The Lageder family has been making wine in Alto Adige for more than 200 years, but their influence today has as much to do with looking forward as preserving tradition. Long before organic and biodynamic farming became part of the broader conversation in Italian wine, Alois Lageder was pushing the estate in that direction. Today, their own vineyards are farmed biodynamically, and the growers they work with farm organically or biodynamically, a remarkable commitment at this scale. Lageder works across the entire, vastly varied Alto Adige landscape, and their wines offer a particularly vivid look at just how diverse the region can be.
We’ll taste together with Helena, the sixth generation of the Lageder family, in the beautiful Belsö garden, just across the street from the shop.
This is a guided but informal tasting — standing, relaxed, and conversational.
