Made from Tonda Iblea olives. Fruity, delicate and with pleasant spicy and bitter notes, it dispenses aromas of fresh almond, artichoke in bloom, Mediterranean scrub and tomato leaf. While she grew up among olive groves, Arianna discovered the Tonda Iblea variety later in her life, when she started producing wine in Vittoria. She soon fell in love with these centuries-old trees of Piraino district in Chiaramonte Gulfi.
"The life of every Sicilian is intertwined with olive oil," Arianna notes. "The production of Nocellara del Belice is our family tradition, a tradition that dates back to 1600 A.D. It has the most beautiful memories: racing through the olive groves, falling and skinning my knees, the taste of bitter olives in the mouth. The olive harvest was a time of gathering, of parties and stories, of many families with the same origins. Where children played carefree, eating bread and freshly-milled oil; so spicy, yet so good. Today it is still special: green, golden, and fragrant. Fortunately, even today, we have the same desire to play, the same light-heartedness, and joy of the past. In addition to the old property of Castelvetrano, we own olive groves in the Piraino district, Chiaramonte Gulfi."
