Hailing from 30-60 year-old Aglianico vines planted to Vulture’s pumice-y volcanic soils, the Liscone’s profile is a far sight more refined and sophisticated than many of the more rustic offerings found in the region. It's intense — smokey, very mineral. Savory, with sweetly ripe tannins, this isn't a fruit-driven wine, but a really sophisticated expression of the Vulture. The wine is certainly drinkable now, but this is a fine candidate for mid-term aging and is oddly enough one of those wines that actually develops well over 2-3 days of being open.
