Luca Bevilacqua is a young winemaker (and professional sommelier since 20 years) based in Atessa Val di Sangro, Abruzzo.The 2024 "Rose Lab" is a brilliantly playful, hyper-energetic rosé designed to highlight the high-toned, vibrant side of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo -- and truthfully you might think of it as a 'chillable red' all things told. Sourced from organically farmed estate vines rooted in heavy clay and marly limestone soils, the fruit captures the cooling maritime breezes shifting off the nearby Adriatic Sea. The hand-harvested grapes are direct-pressed immediately to isolate the brightest primary fruit juice. Following a spontaneous native yeast fermentation, the wine rests for 6 months on its fine lees in neutral fiberglass tanks. Bottled strictly zero-zero—unfined, unfiltered, and with no added sulfites—the 2024 vintage delivers a masterclass in crunchiness; it masterfully channels a core of tart red berries and citrus rind with a laser-sharp, mouthwatering Adriatic acidity.
