A selection of the best grapes from Filippo’s farm, the ‘Vino Rosso’ is a roughly even split of Nero d’Avola and Frappato, with a splash of Grenache. Bright, fleet-footed and seemingly crafted to be consumed with great gusto, the two principal varietals seem to have a natural affinity with one another, and although this is the most structured of Rizzo’s releases, it comes with impeccable balance and detail. A wine that feels truly Mediterranean - its sun-soaked nature, cavalcade of juicy red fruits, exotic spice and herbaceous side notes brighten up these early spring days.
