A brand new release, ‘Imbris’ – which takes its name from the Latin word for rain, an homage to the climatic conditions of the vineyard – comprises 100% Carricante grown on high elevation (900m) bush vines. A sublime fusion of the cold of the mountain and the fire of the volcano, unique geography and soil composition (including windswept red sands from the Sahara Desert!) force roots to dig deep to find moisture, creating a more concentrated flavor profile than your typical Etna Bianco. Raised 18 months in stainless steel before resting an additional two years in bottle, this elegant wine starts with a bright minerality and finishes with complex salinity. Floral hints of wisteria and elderberry draw you in, before subsuming the palate in cured lemon and volcanic spice. Steeped in luxurious freshness without losing its full, textured body.
