A rollicking texture bomb of 'not quite red, but not really rosé,' the 'Fanino' is a co-fermentation of roughly even parts Pignatello (red) and Catarratto (white) grapes, brought to life in amphora, buried underground, with seven months on the skins. The result is a most definitely chillable island red – a beautiful shade of cherry in the glass – that packs punches of juicy blood orange, guava, and wild, scrubby herbs. Tapering off with loads of minerals and spice, this really glides across the palate, making for something truly one of a kind; it's fruity, acidic, earthy, aromatic, concentrated, and even a bit rugged and wild, not unlike Gabrio himself!
