Brand new from the estate, Freisa is a cousin to Nebbiolo and can be made in a brighter, berry-laden style (the name comes from the Latin for strawberry), or turn to darker, deeper tones and show off the serious structure that is certainly a family trait. This is definitely the latter. The nose shows characteristic notes of roses, raspberries, wild strawberries, with an added rush sage, mint, and graphite.
