The family’s collection of top terroirs and generations of leadership in championing Pinot Noir are what make wines from Domaine Vesselle such eloquent examples of Blanc de Noirs Champagnes. For nearly 300 years, the Vesselle family has been tilling the chalky soils of Bouzy and cultivating some of the village’s best-placed Pinot Noir vines. Wines from this peerless family estate combine a classic Champagne elegance with the signature power and uncompromising flavor of Pinot Noir from Bouzy.

The orangey-pink color of this 'eye of the partridge' Pinot Noir-based wine historically was the hue of most Champagne made in Bouzy in the 19th century. From 35+ year old vines planted in very chalky clay and limestone, grapes are briefly macerated (less than 24 hours) for a slight pinkish hue – it's signature and apparently like that of a partridge’s eye, hence the moniker. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, and aged for 24 months on the lees, with 5g/L dosage. Red roses, orange zest, lavender, and light herbs reel off the nose, leading to a medium-bodied yet still very lively palate. This is elegant, silky and balanced, with notes of stone fruits, wild strawberry, pomegranate, and a peppery finish.
