100% Retagliadu Nieddu, an ancient biotype of Cannonau, from the 'Tuderi' single vineyard, this features some of the oldest vines in the estate. Fermented with native yeasts in cement vats, without temperature control, it is aged for 23 months; bottled straight from the vats. Perhaps Dettori’s most recognized Cannonau, Tuderi is Badde Nigolosu in a glass: layers of ripe wild berries are wrapped in Mediterranean herbs, olive tapenade, rosemary and thyme, and followed by a vibrant backbone of crushed stones. The nose is earthy yet sweet, with aromas of mushrooms, blackberries, black cherries and cinnamon. Notes of strawberry and red cherry preserve that geniality on the palate, even in the face of soaring acid and dusty tannins that fortify an enduring earthiness. A joyous, ‘only from the islands’, identity-specific wine.
