A spice rack of different Nebbiolo biotypes (85%) combined with Vespolina (15%), Carlone's flagship wine sees spontaneous fermentation on the skins (fully destemmed) for around a month for the Nebbiolo, and the Vespolina for 14-18 days. After pressing, the wine is aged in 25hl Slovenian oak botti for eighteen months and then prepared for bottling. Earthy, mineral undertones score a classic and lifted palate. Notes of cherry, ripe dark plum and medicinal herbs accompany plush and elegant aromatics of rose, cardamom, and violet. One of the true great wines of the region.
