This wine is named for a park in Monte Regio which was a cornerstone of the community. Set in a small forest of Monterey Pines with a creek running through it, Via Paraiso Park was a place for summer cookouts, the venue for all manner of youth sports, and a vast terrain for childhood exploration (it wasn't that big, actually). Correctly pronounced "Par-a-ee-so," the locals, no doubt drawing from the pronunciation of "ai" in Italian, called it "Par-eye-so." We hope this wine, a playful Alto-Adige inspired blend of Kerner, Sauvignon Blanc, Riesling and Malvasia, evokes the joy and good times you've enjoyed in the communities you hold dear. Aromatic, floral, and herbaceous with a cleansing salty finish.
Hand harvested and directly pressed. Fermentation with wild yeast from the vineyard and a full secondary fermentation was allowed to slowly complete with native bacteria throughout the winter and into spring. 6 months elevage in neutral puncheon, followed by 6 months in bottle.
