In addition to their Tuscan reds, Dante and Helena produce tiny quantities of white wine from older vine Trebbiano and Malvasia. Their 2021 Bianco comprises 50% Trebbiano and 50% Malvasia grown in soils rich in marine fossils; after natural fermentation, it spends four months on the skins, imparting a gorgeous complex of fleshy-fruity, salty, and tannic tones to the final product. With white floral notes, burnt citrus, melon, dried apricot, and sun-baked herbs, great texture, and a mineral-saline finish that goes on and on. Grab a big bottle and dream of spring!
