The 'Il Prodigo' is rare creature in the wild indeed. The Mattioli family has always had a small amount of these incredibly rare Montonico vines scattered throughout their vineyards; very old vines that produce tiny, sparse berries, even in the best of conditions yielding only minuscule amounts of fruit meaning this is a wine produced only once or twice every decade, and in very small numbers. Direct pressed with no skin contact, the Prodigo is wild and savory, packed with wonderfully salty-briny-pickle-y qualities, brightened with tangy yellow citrus, soft Mediterranean herbs.
