The 2019 Barbaresco Rabajà-Bas is another absolutely compelling wine in this range, pulled from what was formerly a portion of the Rabajà cru, one of the three or four most famous vineyards in Italy. The 2019 is super expressive right out of the gate. A beguiling mélange of dark cherry, wild herbs, menthol, licorice, earthiness and dried flowers gives it strong savory tones to play off of the Nebbiolo fruit. Big, but elegant, translucent finesses and power come togeyher beautifully in this deep, structured Barbaresco. Fruit is grown the estate's signature Marne di Sant'agata soil, which is 30% sand, 55% clay and 15% limestone. Essentially a riserva style, aged for 18 months in Slavonian botti grandi followed by one month in stainless steel and then 14 months in the bottle before release.
