The Collio archetype, Nicola's single-varietal Friulano is pulled from a number of 60 year-old plantings found in the the grey-brown marl soils around the villages of Brazzano and Ruttars. Beyond the old-vine factor, almost all of del Tiglio's Friulano vines are from ancient (and now almost extinct) cultivars the family has nursed over decades. Yellow citrus and quince wrap around a core of Adriatic salinity, a creamy mid-weight texture finishing with a varietally classic almond skin note.
