Of the Antico Lamole trio, the Le Viti di Livio is surely the most wild and savory in its character. First indications lead one directly to the soil: damp earth, fresh Porcini, leafy underbrush and a smokey, meaty intensity hovering just above. Yet, the mouth reveals an almost contradictory kaleidoscope of lush and silky purple/black fruit; dark cherry and blackberry pocked with a herbal, incense-like sweetness and svelte tannins. A wine that seems to mutate every ten minutes!
