South of Somewhere - Robert Camuto

South of Somewhere - Robert Camuto

$24.95

Named one of the best wine books of 2021 by  The New York Times, The Washington Post, JancisRobinson.com and more, South of Somewhere is way more than that: it's a personal memoir of an American with a long history in Italy and a story of Italy in the 21st century. Its focus is the Italian South at a critical time of wine renaissance — told through vivid stories animated by passionate and colorful characters, including Emidio Pepe, Luigi Tecce, Salvo Foti, and many more.

South of Somewhere takes readers beyond the usual objective views of viniculture and into the elusive and magical world of Italian “southern-ness, leading them on a journey through the terroirs of Southern Italy today: from the Calabrian toe of the Italian boot and Sicily’s still active Mount Etna to earthquake-shaken land of Abruzzo; from the remote lands of Campania and Puglia to Basilicata’s Mount Vulture; from the old papal territory of Umbria to Rome’s once great Lazio and back to the evocative cliffs of the Amalfi coast.

The audiobook is now available from Audible  – narrated by Biondivino's own Alan Reinhardt!

Robert Camuto is a prize-winning American author and journalist who has lived in Europe for 20 years, where he has immersed himself in the food and wine traditions of Italy and France. He lives with his family in Verona, Italy.
