Fuorviante opens with bright citrus and stone fruit, followed by a saline mineral undertow that captures the essence of southeastern Sicily's limestone terroir. Elevated acidity and crystalline freshness define this wine—a pure expression of place. Guglielmo Manenti founded his winery in Vittoria in 2006, the inaugural year of the Cerasuolo di Vittoria DOCG. He's a member of I Vigneri, Salvo Foti's consortium of Sicilian traditionalists whose roots trace to the Maestranza dei Vigneri guild founded in Catania in 1435. This blend of indigenous Sicilian white varieties reflects Manenti's meticulous approach. He farms organically with traditional alberello (bush vine) training at high vine density (6,000 per hectare), allowing limestone beneath the soil to provide natural water retention.
