Aris lost about 70% of his usual production in 2022 due to drought, so instead of his typical monovarietal bottlings 'Rebosso' Vermentino and 'Crescendo' Pigato, we have a blend of the two Ligurian classics here. Along the sun-washed slopes of Bordighera, the infamous Mistral winds are known for being so violent that they can often break the steel wires that support the vines, but in the process they also deposit microscopic crystals of sea salt on the grapes and soil. This intensely precise salinity shines in this bottling, met with a heady mix of honeysuckle, waxy almond, and a serious pineapple-orange tropical flourish at the end. While rich and hazy in the glass, it sees no skin-contact, transferring to a mix of steel and concrete for lengthy aging on the lees.
