Oh Oh! Camajo! from Podere Veneri Vecchio is comprised solely of Campania native Camaiola. Raffaello Annicchiarico, agronomist and former microbiologist, is vigneron and manager of his small estate and cellar located 100-200 meters above sea level in the province of Benevento. The terroir of this region - of volcanic origin and mainly composed of clay-heavy sediments - combined with the typically mild and windy climate of this area, give the wines their unique signature, and Raffaele has been operating organically since day one, in order to best preserve all the typical territorial characteristics of the vines with minimal intervention.
Oh Oh! Camajo! it owes its name to the black spots that this wine leaves, produced with 100% Camaiola grapes. This variety is not frequently vinified but Raffaele, in his project of recovering the typical regional grapes, has dedicated a label to it. Maceration on the skins lasts for about 20 days, followed by spontaneous fermentation inside fiberglass containers, then a long period of refinement which is carried out in chestnut barrels. Expect red fruits, violet, rose, and spices, with full-bodied yet soft tannins.
