'Cinque,' a nod to the five grape varieties planted at Le Boncie, is fermented in a combination of cement and steel, with a slightly briefer maceration than 'Le Trame,' the estate's flagship wine, and ages in large botti for roughly one year less. The result is a slightly less structured and gentler wine, though still deeply expressive of both the warm generosity of Castelnuovo Berardenga, and of Giovanna’s style. Fresh and vibrant on the nose with ripe berries, wild cherry, orange peel, fresh roses, wild thyme and earth, it eases onto the palate with mid-weight tannins and a refreshing line of acidity that pulls it all together. A gorgeous wine to drink now and over the next few years.
