Layer upon layer, this wine is one to ponder. Imagine: a fall afternoon in the garden with freshly turned, black soil amongst lavender bushes and an herb garden. You're kept warm in a worn leather jacket with lingering scents of pipe tobacco and tar, and what can only be described as for an irresistible berry-drenched smokiness. Back indoors, all the sensory delights of porcini mushroom soup waft readily, followed by a balsamic glazed blackberry tart, and a strong espresso. Lingering minerality on the tongue complements the grippy tannins, which smooth to silk when given some room to breathe. Fruit is sourced from plots around La Morra and Barbaresco is fermented with only native yeasts, raised in stainless, bottled without additions, zero sulfur, and sealed under crown cap. A most funky and righteous Nebbiolo.
