A rare genetic offshoot of the much more famous and widely planted Vermentino (bianco), Vermentino Nero finds its spiritual home at Tuscany's northernmost border, occasionally popping up in southern Liguria as well. Riddled with just barely ripe sunbaked strawberry, dusty coastal scrub and singed orange rind, Terenzuola's take is brimming with laid back Mediterranean vibes that seem to speak of warmer months ahead.
