'Il Campitello' comes from a 50-plus-year-old vineyard, the oldest vines at Monteraponi; 90% Sangiovese, with a dash of Canaiolo and Colorino, maceration is for 45 days, followed by 26 months of aging in large oak barrels. 2021 is a gorgeous, and a super-classic Monteraponi wine, from an excellent vintage across Tuscany. Bright acids cut through a core blue and purple fruit, lavender, spice, mint and licorice. Medium in body with striking energy, this is a model of Radda elegance and vibrancy, a livewire bundle of intensity and complexity of flavor, delivered across the palate so seamlessly. Beautifully done.
