Just like Dante and Helena themselves, this wine exudes a welcoming wisdom, with gentle, expressive depth, and a seriousness about its sense of place and handling but never really about itself. Comprised of 80% Sangiovese from the couple's oldest vines, along with Colorino, Malvasia Nera, and Canaiolo, grapes see wild fermentation in concrete with a long maceration, and the wine spends 36 months in Slavonian oak. Bottled without any additions. Opening on the herbal side with a touch of brett, it segues into tart cherry, blue berry, red flowers, and dried apricot, alongside spicy notes of pepper and leather, with smooth tannins and a while lot of soul.
