100% (Gruner) Veltliner, organically farmed with the Pligers employing some biodynamic principles as well. Aged, as all their whites are, in a mixture of stainless steel and acacia wood barrels, on the lees for 5 to 7 months. Mineral-driven with a saline kick, the 2021 bursts from the glass with a blend of crushed stone, dusty florals, and ground ginger. This is sharply focused, silky, and elegant on the palate, with white peach, sour melon, and kiwi playing against its stony core. It finishes with great length and concentration, leaving a tropical air in its wake while remaining remarkably fresh.
