If you're not yet familiar with Cerasuolo – the classic Abruzzese rosato that's so much much that your average rose and one of our favorite styles in the shop – buckle up. Made entirely from direct pressed Montepulciano and aged for one year in used botti, this is fresh and vibrant in the glass, with a rich pink hue. Crushed stone and peach-orange sorbet give way to vivid strawberry and mint as it opens, before laser-beam-like acidity sets the stage for a fantastic mix of citrus, bright cherry, crushed rose petals, and hints of sweet spices. There is tension here, but also depth, as it is carried on a robust vein of minerality, sour melon, and a crisp, clean finish. Such a joy to drink.
