In the words of Damiano: “Franc[o] is a shop wine, and it’s completely different. Letizia and I chose to purchase and vinify a grape that we love and with which we had not yet had experience, Cabernet Franc. To this we have added a bit of Cesanese from a splendid vineyard in Olevano Romano and we sincerely thank the gentleman for having given us the grapes from his latest harvest. We hope to have honored them fully. Franc[o] is – therefore – a sincere wine: it tells a true story of the unpredictability of the agricultural world. Franc[o] is a tribute to a person, to a variety, to our way of being frank. And if I can be Franc[o], there is nothing wrong with doing things well.”
Vinification is entirely in cement, aging for 8 months followed by a few more in bottle. Floral scents and forest berry – blueberry, currant and raspberry – herbaceous notes, especially bay leaves and mint, sublte chocolatey and balsamic tones. Straight, taut and tasty, fresh and with a satisfying tannic structure.
