The 'San Giuseppe' comes from a selection of the best parcel of Bricco Boschis, macerated for up to a month and aged in large oak barrels for 4-5 years. It's a powerhouse to be sure with huge swathes of tannins wrapped around a dark fruit core, part of the Dynamic Duo of Cavallotto's extraordinary 2019 Riservas. Intensely fragrant, featuring pronounced aromas of violet, baking spice, new leather and baked plum. Offering depth and layers of flavors, the delicious, structured palate delivers layers of ripe Marasca cherry, cinnamon, nutmeg and crushed mint before closing on a note of Earl Grey tea. A network of firm but velvety tannins provides support while bright acidity keeps it energized and balanced. This is one for the long haul.
