We love Roero Nebbioli for their vivid aromatics and fine, gentle tannins (particularly compared to thier Langhe counterparts), and 'Roccapalea' is no exception, showing as a beguilingly elegant, high-toned style of the grape. Fruity notes emerge with vivacity: small ripe red fruits, wild strawberries, raspberries, spicy notes of pink pepper and floral notes of red rose and violet. Velvety on the palate, with a tannic texture so well integrated that makes this pure Nebbiolo even more graceful. 'Roccapalea' sees about 30% whole-cluster fermentation (contributing to that peppery freshness), and 12-18 months aging in large barrels (taming and smoothing out those tannins.)
