Nebbiolo stands as the most representative and nuanced expression of Piemonte's terroir, and Mattia and Giovanni enjoy producing it in two versions; this one focuses on drinkability, approachability, and the primary and secondary aromas, symbolized on the label by the violet flower, arguably Nebbiolo's most iconic aromatic signature. Hand-harvested grapes undergo native fermentation, with about half of the wine aging in stainless steel and the remaining in large French oak barrels for about 10 months. Purple fruit and flowers definitely reign in this bottling, though not without some of the other classic Nebbiolo hits: rose petals, tobacco, balsamic herbs, held together by high acidity, ripe tannins, and a refreshing mineral finish. Incredibly vibrant and equally finessed, it's the epitome of Ghëddo's playfully serious (seriously playful?) winemaking.
