From the Bricco Lago vineyards in Monforte, set in a pocket of remarkable biodiversity, this Dolcetto captures Elena and Luca’s vision of the grape as a vibrant gateway to the Langhe. Whole cluster fermentation and élevage in stainless steel keep things lifted and pure. The nose is immediate and expressive, with wild berries, cherry, and a pop of fresh herbs, accented by hints of lavender and spice; the palate is supple yet energetic, with crunchy black raspberry, a touch of graphite, and a clean mineral drive that gives the wine real shape. Tannins are fine-grained and more restrained here, adding gentle structure without weight, and the finish is fresh, lightly saline, and quietly persistent, with a subtle peppery edge. There’s a lively, almost Beaujolais-like charm to the fruit, but always with a distinctly Piedmontese backbone.
