This Fiano di Avelino (yes, from Montalcino) comes from Vigna Civitella, and was native fermented with 5 days on skins in stainless prior to 9 months in large French barrels. Pouring a shining gold hue, this skips along the palate with wild lemon, kumquat, lime blossoms, mandarin pith, and apricot skin texturing the slight, saline frame. Taut, mineral, and bone dry, this is not your typical Tuscan white / orange, and one for adventuresome drinkers to seek out.
