100% Grecanico (aka Garganega, in the Veneto), with just a quick 13 hours of skin contact, before being pressed off into large concrete tanks for fermentation. After six months on lees the wine is bottled. What in previous years has been very orange is here more a mid-weight white, golden and clear in the glass, but with none the enticing, floral aromatics and Sicilian tropicality that makes this a favorite year after year sacrificed. Aromas of orange oil and sun-baked pine cones, and buckets of salty, citrusy richness, capped off by a crisp, dry finish — an honest little wine that overdelivers while maintaining a true sense of its place by the seaside.
