Martin and Marion's 'GT' Vino Bianco comes from old Gewürztraminer vines near Platten auf dem Ritten (Bozen's local mountain). The vines are cultivated according to Steinerian biodynamics, using various teas and promoting soil vitality. Grapes are harvested by hand and relatively early for the region, spontaneously fermented, and see a maceration of about 12 days in contact with the skins, before aging for 7 months in chestnut tonneaux. A beguiling wine with a bouquet that ranges from exotic fruit and candied citrus – orange, orange zest, orange blossom, sugared rhubarb, wild raspberries, cassis – to deeper and longer notes of spice and an unbelievable floral and herbal intensity – ginger, wild sage, rose petals, and lavender. A clear but very fine tannic grip and bright acidity bolster an otherwise velvety structure. A true South Tyrolean jewel!
