The 2019 Barolo is all from Boscato, in the town of Verduno. Aged for 32 months in large Slavonian oak casks and 1 month in steel tanks, followed by 6 months in the bottle prior to its release. Sweet tobacco, earthiness, orange peel, cedar, dried flowers, licorice and herbs give the 2019 notable aromatic presence, while the fruit is pushed more into the background. There's more than enough complexity to ensure a decade of fine drinking, especially once the tannins soften a touch. A translucent, expressive Barolo – a pure delight.
