The Rosso del Gnemiz was among the first wines bottled under the label Ronco del Gnemiz in 1981. It comes exclusively from their oldest parcels of Cabernet Sauvignon (~30%), Cabernet Franc (~50%), and Merlot (~20%), with vines ranging in age from 35 to 60+ years old. Supple and easy-drinking, moody wild berries and exotic spices give way herbal tones and dried purple florals, a tug of structural heft just begs for another year or two of cellaring. A wine at the more boisterous (though nevertheless meticulous) end of the Bordeaux blend category; perfect for lovers of the Right Bank.
