A 10 day maceration on skins lends the '450' a deeply golden hue and more textural weight than its compatriots. With first fermentation in steel, second fermentation in bottle - basically an un-disgorged Champagne for orange wine aficionados. From vines planted in the early 1950s, the 450 leans heavily into the citrus skin/oil side of things capturing zesty pink grapefruit, Cara Cara orange and tangerine in a web of dusty stone and white orchid. Low in alcohol but the most structured of their wines, though never sacrificing a hallmark saline freshness.
