The ‘Litro’ Rosso comprises predominantly of Sangiovese with a fairly decent chunk of Ciliegiolo rounding out the blend. Fermented and raised in a mix of stainless steel and 1970s era, Apollo Moon Lander-esque fibreglass tanks, the Litro can be placed pretty assuredly in the ‘sluggy juice’ category – and we say that with the greatest of respect, reverence, and affection. An abundance of juicy cherry fruit and blackberry cough lozenge underpin a wonderfully crunchy and perfectly fresh fruit profile, though the wine still retains a cozy and rustic core of spice and leafy underbrush that leaves it perfectly at home when combo'd with rustic and easy-going dinner table fare.
