Christoph's flagship offering has found a place on our walls for the better part of a decade now. Comprising of 85% Nebbiolo and 15% Vespolina, with 3 years spent in large botti, the result is ultra precise; sparkling clean red fruit, damp forest floor, balsamic and a subtle peppery spice drawn from the Vespolina. The 2016 opens with an explosion of heady floral and savory aromatics. Medium in body, tightly wound and classically austere, with hints of rose petal, mint, pine and crushed rocks confer energy to a wine of delineation and raciness. This is a tremendous expression of Nebbiolo and while there's a graceful, lifting acidity that makes this a joy to pop now, it will no doubt benefit from 10+ years in a cool, dark corner.
