Nadia's Barbera is a nod to her renegade nature, named 'Bandita' in protest of the fact it was denied the 'Barbera d’Asti' appellation, and bearing her own alter ego – ever the mischievous innovator – on the label. Pulled from her 40-year-old vines, planted over the region’s characteristically steep slopes and soft, sandy soils, the wine spends two months on skins, followed by two years in vat. As pure an expression of the grape as you’ll find, with brambly black and red fruits, earthy-undergrowth soul full of herbaceous tones, just a little tannin, and telltale refreshing acidity. Let it breathe to get the full picture – it gets more addictive with every sip.
