In only its second vintage, the Lavigna is a rare and extremely low production rosso comprised of 100% Croatina. Elegant and fresh, with sweet and delicate red berry and herbaceous tones, the Lavigna is a delightfully approachable wine with purity and class. The grapes are grown in a dramatic amphitheater-like plot in the unique and traditional Maggiorina style and completely harvested by hand. After a native yeast fermentation in open-top stainless steel vats (outdoors!), the grapes then macerate for one month. Next, they are pressed and racked to 500 liter oak barrels for a year of elevage followed by an additional year of aging in bottle before release. Rustic and rare, this wine pairs well with braised meat and roasted veggies.
