Based on an amalgamation of classic Val d’Aosta natives in Petit Rouge, Vien de Nus and Fumin, with just a dash of Pinot Noir and Dolcetto, with fruit hailing from vines planted in the mid 50’s. Lean and perfumed, there’s a sense of boiled blackberry candies wrapped in dried purple flowers, dark fruits of the woods, and a minty/ menthol lift carried on a cool mountain breeze. A persistent sense of cleansing freshness results in a wine that proves itself equal parts palate cleanser and ‘thinking wo/man’s wine,’ a glassful that requires - nay demands - a little extra time spent pondering.
