The Foti boys are at it again! Pulled from an experimental vineyard (Etna bushvine) with autochthonous and allochthonous vines (indigenous and non-native grapes varities) planted in Milo (Contrada Caselle) on sandy volcanic soil, this is a blend of Pinot Bianco, Savagnin, Chenin Bianco, Gewurztraminer and Carricante. Bunches are harvested by hand and then pressed whole using a pneumatic press; the juice ferments with indigenous yeasts in second passage French oak tonneaux followed by six months of maturation. Like Jura meets Etna, with nuances of white and yellow flowers, orchard fruit and exotic fruits alongside the refreshing acidity, salty accents, and elegant structure of Milo. Much more than a novelty, this is another success for Andrea and Simone – their terroir through their eyes and experience, a thoughtfully-made, subtlety ambitious, and just-a-joy-to-drink kind of wine through and through. Approximately 1200 bottles produced.
