Intended as the earlier drinking and less structured of the farm's two Montepulciano-based wines this is aged for 12 months in, you guessed it, concrete. The 2019 exudes a perfumed and pretty display of fresh violets, wild strawberries, dark cherries, and wet stone. It’s soft and fleshy in feel, energized by brilliant acidity, which also works to balance its ripe red and blue fruit — think blackberry, cranberry, and cool herbs, followed by a twang of crisp minerality. Juicy and fresh, bold and full of flavor but with smooth tannins, enjoy it with a slight chill for maximum effect.
