Les 7 Crus, a blend of 90% Chardonnay and 10% Pinot Noir, comes from from 70% Grand Cru and 30% Premier Cru vineyards from the seven villages around Avize: Avize, Oger, Oily and Cramant for the Grand Crus, and Avenay Val d'Or, Bergères les Vertus and Mardeuil for the Premier Crus. This is the entry level, Chardonnay-based cuvée from this very talented grower family. It may be the entry level but it offers so much more depth and energy than any other Champagne in its price category. The nose is so elegant, with aromas of white flowers and a hint of honey. Very pure with an amazing mouthfeel combined with nectarine, apple and a herbaceous character. A superb non-vintage bottling that beautifully synthesizes the pure and opulent fruit of top quality chardonnay vineyards in the Côte de Blancs with a racy, structured minerality that gives the wine superb length and cut. A real beauty.
