A tight, bright, and nimble take on Montepulciano, and one of the best vintages of it to date! Drawn from 40-year-old vines in Iole's Cancelli parcel, her Rosso is a massive cherry-bomb explosion – red, black, sour – with cranberry, herbal spice, and a hint of salty earth rounding things out. Pleasingly soft and supple, the wine sees just a brief 4 day maceration on skins and fermentation and aging in stainless; the result is all brightness, freshness, juicy angles and boundless energy – a far cry from the heavyweight extraction so often found with this varietal in Abruzzo. Best served with a slight chill!
