After two years aging in large Slavonian oak casks and now several more in bottle, the 2019 is still dark and intense, smoldering with a blend of dried black cherries, sage, sweet tobacco, and pine. There’s a burst of sweet ripe fruit up front, a minty freshness, and a saturation of tart wild berries; through it all, vibrant acidity maintaining balance. Long, structured, and pleasantly grippy, underlined by the primary fruit concentration; tamed a bit already, this is one – should you have the patience and space – to lose in the cellar and see what it can really do.
