Paolo Bea Montefalco Rosso Riserva Vigna Pipparello 2006

This estate is amongst the most dear to our hearts here at Biondivino!

The Bea family, can be traced back as far as 1500 to the area of Montefalco, in the region of Umbria; an area not only known for Sangiovese but for Sagrantino. The entire property not only functions as a winery but as essentially as a farm, producing olive oil, vegetables and maintaining livestock.

"Pipparello" refers to a hilltop vineyard site in Montefalco, rich in clay and gravel, of 1300 ft above sea level. Comprised mostly of Sangiovese, Montepulciano and Sagrantino

We are fortunate to have this vintage and it continues to deliver. 'Pipparello' is wine full of earthy traits as well herbaceous, well-balanced and softly textured.

Giampiero Bea is also is the president of ViniVeri ("Real Wines"), a wine organization that promotes the diversity/biodiversity of winemakers all across Italy.
